Roundtrip Ronja
From 2008 Ronja Gård
offers a round trip by car of approximately one week through the scenic
landscapes of Mid east Norway.
Accommodations are not
more than 250 km apart. Hosts are pleased to provide you with extensive
information and maps from their region.
You stay in
cabins/apartments or in your own tent on quiet camp sites.
The round trip will be
tailored to your individual wishes.
En route you will visit
nature reserves (Finnskogen, Gutulia, Femundsmarka, Rondane and Jotunheimen)
which are typical for this sparsely populated part of Norway. Meeting elk,
reindeer and Døler horses is guaranteed.
You may wish to do some
sightseeing in small towns like Røros and Lillehammer and visit national museums
like the Norwegian forest museum, open air museum Maihaugen and the Norwegian
elk centre. Visiting the fish auction at lake Femunden and several old
(mountain) farms and "stav" churches is highly recommended.
Fishing, walking,
cycling, canoeing and swimming is possible at all the lodging sites.
Traditional Norwegian
food is served at several restaurants on the way.
Key words for
Roundtrip Ronja
are nature, culture, tranquillity and hospitality.
This trip provides a
lot of vacation for little money and is also very well suited for children.
